17 August | Reform & Precinct Tracker
Please see below August's edition of the PremierNational Property, Planning and Infrastructure ‘Reform & Precinct Tracker’. This is a monthly newsletter prepared by PremierNational to track the progress of major NSW Government policy and regulatory proposals from the initial announcement through to implementation. It is clear from this month's tracker that the NSW Government is looking at policies to speed up housing approvals, but is encountering implementation difficulties.
Included in this email, you will also find some high-level PremierNational insights into the Deputy Premier and Minister for Western Sydney, Prue Car.
Please contact our Director Ilana Waldman if you have any questions with respect to any of these items.

Prue Car, who also holds portfolios in Education and Early Learning, Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education, was raised in the Emu Plains and St Marys areas. Having joined the Labor Party as a teenager, she went on to advise NSW Premier Bob Carr from 2003 to 2005 and became a campaign co-ordinator for Labor after his departure from office.
Car served as a Penrith City councillor for seven years before her election to parliament in 2015. During that time, she held several managerial roles with MS Australia, including as Public Relations and Public Affairs and Advocacy Manager across NSW, Victoria and the ACT, and later as National Communications Manager until her election.
Car is passionate about the importance of establishing and funding public schools and pledged to become a champion of public education following Labor’s 2023 NSW election victory. She is a member of Labor’s Right faction and is affiliated with the Transport Workers Union. In politics, Car is regarded as motivated, resilient and closely engaged with the community in her Western Sydney seat of Londonderry.
