With the 45th Parliament set to resume in nation’s capital next Tuesday, 7 February 2017, CapitalHill Advisory is pleased to provide you with the 2017 Parliamentary Sitting Schedule.

The Sitting Calendar outlines the schedule for Federal and State Parliaments nationally.

2017 promises to be yet another exciting year in Australian politics, with a number of significant events due to take place including:

  • The replacement of one of the 12 Senate seats in Western Australia, vacated by the departure of former One Nation Senator, Rod Cullerton, after he was disqualified from the position due to a declaration of bankruptcy;

  • Two by-elections in New South Wales (NSW), with the dual retirement of former Premier Mike Baird from the blue ribbon seat of Manly, as well as veteran North Sydney MP the Hon Jillian Skinner;

  • The West Australian Parliament due to go to a State Election on 11 March; and

  • The Queensland Parliament anticipated to go to a State Election before the end of the calendar year.
