QUICK REFORM PROGRESS OVERVIEW
REFORM + PRECINCT TRACKER
Deputy Premier Toole has served as the Member for Bathurst since 2011 and is a Member of the Legislative Assembly and The Nationals. Upon being elected as Deputy Premier in October 2021 (upon the retirement of John Barilaro), Toole took over as Minister for Regional New South Wales and took on the further responsibility of Minister for Police in December 2021.
Prior to entering the NSW Parliament, Toole was a primary school teacher for almost 20 years and became Bathurst Regional Council’s first deputy mayor in 2005 and then mayor in 2007. Under his direction and leadership, Bathurst became the fastest-growing inland regional city in NSW.
Toole was elected with the overwhelming support of the party room as Deputy Premier and is well-liked by almost all in politics. Toole was part of a natural succession, as a close ally of former leader John Barilaro.
Toole has a constructive and respectful relationship with the Premier and they have been working together very well.
