REFORM + PRECINCT TRACKER

  • Prior to entering NSW Parliament, Roberts was a Captain in the Australian Army Reserve and an adviser to Prime Minister John Howard. He also served in Bougainville as part of the Peace Monitoring Group.

  • Roberts is one of the remaining few members of NSW Parliament to have entered Parliament in 2003.

  • Roberts held multiple Shadow Ministry roles during opposition, including Juvenile Justice, Emergency Services, Volunteering, the Arts and Citizenship.

  • Roberts was first appointed to Cabinet by Barry O'Farrell following the Liberal's landslide election victory in 2011 and has remained in Cabinet since.

  • Roberts has held portfolios such as Fair Trading, Industry, Resources, Energy, Counter Terrorism and held the role of Minister for Planning from Jan 2017 to Apr 2019.

  • Roberts is a factional ally of new Premier, Dominic Perrottet.

  • Roberts is seen as someone who will facilitate the release of housing supply and planning approvals as a priority.
